Bunk Beds!!!

So with Isaac approaching 2 1/2 years and never having been laid by since he had been in a crib this whole time, we decided it was time to get new beds!!! David insisted that they be bunk beds so that he could relive a few childhood memories. The kids absolutley love them! Lydia is on the top which is her "castle" and Isaac is down in his "cave". The best part about it is that they have actually been sleeping a lot better since they moved to their new beds! Lydia no longer is concerned about monsters under her bed because she said "now they're under Isaac"! And We think Isaac just plain likes it! When we asked Isaac what he thought about his bunk bed he just stated in matter of fact tone "That's my cave".

So the other day I went to check on Isaac during his nap to see if he was asleep yet. You can imagine the scare I got when I found an empty bed, a clear closet, and no answer when I called for him. Immediately all sorts of horror stories started running through my head, and I was sure somehow someone had found a way in and taken him. I was beginning to panic when Lydia found him!!! It seems he hasn't gotten use to this new found freedom of being able to get in and out of bed all by himself. As you can tell from the pictures we have actually gone through quite a bit of trouble to try and prevent him from falling out.....were not sure if he fell out or climbed, but either way it ended in a good nap so we'll take it! He actually ended up having a very good nap there on the floor..... and the floor is a lot cheaper than the bunk beds we just bought for them.

David finds it pretty entertaining when I take my 8 1/2 pregnant self and climb up those little stairs to lay by Lydia!
